The “Jolie Waspie” is an incredibly curvaceous beige cotton cincher! This piece is perfect for those who have already trained their waist and are able to comfortably lace closed a TT hourglass cincher, and want that little extra “oomph”.
Waspies or cinchers are corsets suitable for those who have a short torso (a seated torso length of less than 9 inches from under the breast to the top of the lap). They provide the most mobility and they won’t push up your bust, or dig into your lap when you sit down!
This corset is Glamorous Corset label, and is made to the same specifications as Glamorous Corsets.
Measurements:
The Jolie waspie generally accommodates a ribcage ~6 inches larger than the waist, and upper hip 9 inches bigger than the waist. For instance, a size 24″ corset would fit someone with a ribcage circumference of 30″ and upper hip of 33″. As a mass-produced garment there is a natural variation in these corsets so the proportions may not be exact in every corset, although we aim for less than 0.5 inch variation.
Lengthwise, the Jolie waspie is approximately:
9 inches long in the center front.
6.5 inches long at the princess seam.
9 inches long at the side seam.
10 inches long at the center back.
Sizing:
It is generally advised that corsets are ordered approximately 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) smaller than your natural waist – however if you would like to have your size verified before purchase, you may fill out the measurement form on this page. This corset contains two layers of cotton twill which is hardy, matte, abrasion-resistant and fade-resistant, with an interlining in between. As a natural fiber it will breathe better than polyester-based fabrics, and is a favorite for those who wish to waist train (as long as measurements are compatible).
The fashion fabric is always fully fused to the twill, which adds strength and prevents bubbling or wrinkling – creating a smooth line on the body.
All Glamorous Jolie corsets contain 20 spiral steel bones and 4 flat steel bones, plus a front fastening busk and back grommets/ laces..
This corset also features 6 garter tabs, and a matching modesty placket under the busk. An unstiffened back modesty panel is included, but we do also have boned floating modesty panels for separate purchase.
Returns and Exchanges:
You have a full 30 days from the purchase date to “try out” the corset and you can return or exchange it as long as the corset does not have any stains, scents, or obvious signs of wear. Just fill out the exchange form, ship it back and I’ll give you a full refund (minus shipping; USPS takes that). Lucy Corsetry does not charge any restocking fee! This is a second cincher I purchased from Lucy. I am 5″, so a real corset is not a good option for me. However, cinchers work great.
I am in my late 40s and my waist is 29″. My first purchase was an Hourglass Creme Cotton Cincher just to see what it is all about and to start waist training. It was size 28″ to start softly and mercifully on my body. Well, you really need some training to lace up tight and hard and not to feel as if set in concrete. In about half a year i was able to stay the whole day in it laced tightly with no problems and decided that I’d got ready for something more challenging.
I chose this Waspie as my next purchase for a more dramatic shape it gives. As this time I was ready for more drama, I got size 24. It was a very right choice. To put it short, I love it. I absolutely do!
Firstly, my objective to buy a cincher at all was mostly medical. I need some good back support for my long sitting hours in the office during the office week and several standing hours at church on weekends. Well, I strongly recommend this way to resolve nasty back issue many of us have. My back has behaved wonderfully ever since. My chiro noticed there’d been a huge improvement. As a bonus, I am getting compliments for my very straight back all the time.
Secondly, I love the shape of my body when laced up. Now more than two years far into waist training, I can lace up size 24 on my 29″ waist really tightly with no issues and stay absolutely comfortable all day long. And I do enjoy all the complements on my curves I get from my friends and colleagues.
Finally, but equally importantly, I adore the quality of both the pieces. The fabric is rather strong but soft, the stitching is great, the bones are real and set well in the cincher. I have no fear something might break or pop our through the fabric. It is all cotton, so it is so easy to take care of it. The process of self lacing is just a treat and fun. With under-corset ware and a corset cover I feel absolutely Victorian and traditional in a crazy environment of a modern office which is a fantastic feeling for me.
To crown it all, Lucy was extremely helpful, supporting and accommodating which made the process of purchase easy and enjoyable.
